When choosing the right towels for you, one of the first things to consider is color. Many women simply choose their favorite color, this may not be the best thing to do in every circumstance. The most important thing is to focus on the decor of your specific bathroom or guest bathroom whichever the case may be. One suggestion that I have, and in fact this is what I do myself, is to go to your local hardware store to the paint section and grab a handful of paint color swathes. These are great for showing which colors go with which colors and I use them all the time to help me pick colors for things like towels and curtains and accessories.
Some women are able to match colors simply by eye, but if you’re not one of those women… like me… then using paint swathes can be a great time saver. You can also go online and find free color checkers that will allow you to input a certain color, such as blue, and it will tell you a range of all the colors that match so that you can find towels that fit your current color scheme.
Whichever colors you ultimately choose, it’s important that all of your towels in each set are the exact same color. You don’t want different tints and hues within the same set. It’s fine to have different sets of different colors, such as an all blue set, an all pink set, and an all yellow set etc. just don’t mix and match colors within a set if you can help it.
The other thing to consider is whether to go with solid colors or patterns. Personally I like solid colors for a variety of different reasons. But some women like patterns, and that’s perfectly okay. I’ll admit something to you, one of the main reasons I like solid colors is because they’re easier to keep clean looking. Patterns tend to get stained easier, I’ve found, and with solid colors those stains don’t show up quite as easily which allows you to get longer use out of your towels before you need to replace them.
If you’re picky, then you may like patterns so that you can see when they’re stained and therefore when they need to be replaced. But if you’re stingy like me, then you want to get as much use out of your tiles for as long as possible before you have to go out and buy new ones ;-)
